Charles T Wilson, III (Charlie)

President

Charles T Wilson, III became the President of CT Wilson Construction Company in 2016. Charlie started in the field as a laborer early on in his life, spending summers working for the family business. Charlie received his Engineer in Training Certification after finishing his undergrad at North Carolina State University in 1993. The following year he completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Texas at Austin where he worked for a General Contractor specializing in medical facilities. In 1999, Charlie joined CT Wilson Construction. His current responsibilities include new client acquisition and managing existing client relationships. He enjoys leading an active lifestyle with his wife Fran and two kids, Anna Catherine and Charles T Wilson, IV.

Charles T Wilson, Jr. (Chuck)

Chief Executive Officer

After graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Chuck served as a Damage Control Officer and Engineering Officer on two different ships in the US Navy before taking a management position at CT Wilson Construction. Charles T Wilson, Jr. has been the Treasurer of CT Wilson Construction Company from since 1983. Chuck has held nearly every position within the company and currently oversees the company’s corporate operations. Chuck is active in his church and serves on numerous boards for both civic and industry affiliated organizations as an advocate for education, minority participation, workforce development, and healthcare. He is a Durham native and a proud grandfather of three.

Andrew Philipps

Andrew Philipps

Senior Project Manager

Andrew Phillips manages various projects and assists Charlie with client and subcontractor acquisition. Having owned his own construction company as a Licensed General Contractor in the State of North Carolina for over two decades, Andrew brings unique perspective to the company. Before starting his own company, Andrew had been working in the construction industry for fifteen years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado in 1986. Outside of work, Andrew loves to build and sail boats with his wife and two kids.

Chris Greenway

Chris Greenway

Project Manager

Prior to joining CT Wilson Construction in 2015 as an Assistant Project Manager, Chris worked for another General Contractor as a field Superintendent co-managing multi-million dollar jobs for NC State and CMC Northeast. While obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he worked for a plumbing and mechanical subcontractor as a BIM Specialist. Chris plays on a softball team with several other CT Wilson employees.

Emily Ellis

Controller

Emily received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Elon University in 2007. Throughout college she remained a Jefferson Pilot Business Fellow. She began working in 2005 beginning as a Corporate Tax Intern and Accounting Intern only to be quickly promoted to Senior Audit Accountant, Headquarters Accountant, and Senior Tax Accountant before coming to work for CT Wilson Construction in 2015. Emily is active in her church and the PTO at her children’s school. Her husband is a full-time fire fighter for Durham County and volunteers for Timberlake Fire and Rescue.

Emily Herndon

Marketing

Emily interned for various companies including a design-build construction firm, a real estate agency, and a developer in Raleigh while studying Architecture at NC State University. In 2013, Emily attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and came to work at CT Wilson Construction as a field laborer. Emily worked as a Quality Control Manager, Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Manager before switching into a Marketing role full time. Emily is an active member of the Durham Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and was the recipient of the 2016 NAWIC South Atlantic Region Future Leader of the Year Award.

Jake Hoggard

Jake Hoggard

Assistant Project Manager

Jake served in the US Marine Corps for four years as a Bulk Fuel Specialist and Tank Farm Operator before working for a metal fabricator as an Assistant Safety and Security Manager. He later pursued Construction Management at Wake Tech Community College where he was recruited by CT Wilson Construction in 2016. As an Assistant Project Manager, Jake assists the Project Managers with scheduling, subcontract drafting, budgeting, submittal reviews, and document control. When Jake was in the Marine Corps he coached a U-6 girls soccer team and enjoys playing golf in his free time.

Justin Ramsey

Justin Ramsey

Senior Project Manager

Justin started at CT Wilson Construction in 2004 as an Assistant Superintendent while attending North Carolina State University. In 2006, Justin graduated as a double major with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering and Management as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures. He was hired as a full time Project Manager that year. Justin is an active member in the Durham General Contractors Association, the Associated General Contractors of America, and the National Association of Home Builders. Justin attended Southern High School of Energy and Sustainability in Durham where he still actively supports the school’s sports, vocational, and Career Development programs.

Keelan Merritt

Assistant Project Manager

Keelan started at CT Wilson Construction a few months after his brother Korey. In 2014, Keelan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University. Prior to joining CT Wilson Construction, Keelan worked as an Assistant Commercial Electrician before working as a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager at two large general contractors in the Southeast. When Keelan is not working, you can find him on the golf course.

Kevin Hartzog

Estimator

Kevin worked as an estimator for a pre-engineered metal building manufacturer while attending North Carolina University. In 1999, after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering and Management, Kevin worked as a Project Manager and Estimator until 2005 when he transitioned solely into estimating. Kevin’s responsibilities as an Estimator include subcontractor and supplier pricing procurement, material quantifying, preliminary budgeting, comprehensive cost estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews. Kevin is active in his daughters Girl Scout Troop and enjoys gardening in his spare time.

Korey Merritt

Assistant Estimator

Korey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and a Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety from East Carolina University. Prior to joining CT Wilson Construction in 2015, Korey worked as a Project Manager and Estimator for a Developer in Apex following a career in maintenance and production outsourcing where he worked as a Safety and Project Manager. His current responsibilities at CT Wilson Construction include estimating, preparing job cost budgets, acquisition of subcontractor pricing, preconstruction scope evaluations and logistics, and assisting with value engineering and constructability reviews. Korey and his wife love watching football and taking their boat to the lake.

Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and partaking in several recreational watersports.

Mark Cate

IT

Mark came to CT Wilson Construction as a consultant in 1998 and became a full-time employee in 2006. With over thirty years of experience in IT that includes system engineering, development, and administration, he is responsible for all aspects of the IT operation at CT Wilson Construction. In addition to his IT responsibilities, Mark works with project managers to schedule their more complex projects. Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and in his wood shop.

Michael Chelenza

Project Manager

Mike began as an Assistant Project Manager for CT Wilson Construction in 2015 and was promoted to Project Manager within the year. With a seven-year stint working for a Regional Supply Chain in positions ranging from Assistant Manager to Director of Operations, Mike brings experience with strategic planning, business expansion, sales, human resources, and personnel development to our team. His professional background in management is preceded by his education in Business Management from Guilford College where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. Mike and his wife have been devoted advocates for various Autism organizations since one of their two children was diagnosed with the disorder.

Michael Thompson

Estimator

In early 2017, Michael joined the CT Wilson Construction Estimating Department. Michael has worked for developers, contractors, subcontractors, and has even owned and operated a few companies in his twenty plus years in the industry. From cleaning to landscaping, carpentry, and construction management, Michael brings experience in project management, estimating, marketing, business development, and operations. In his role as Estimator at CT Wilson Construction, Michael provides estimates for budgeting, bids, and buyout. Michael has a passion for developing relationships and keeping the client happy. He is the father of two human boys and one Doberman. He and his boys enjoy camping, concerts, and riding bikes.

Pablo Manrique

Pablo Manrique

Project Manager

Pablo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the Universidad Santo Tomas de Aquino in Bucaramanga, Colombia in 1999. Pablo worked for an architect throughout school and was awarded the First Exposition Award of Academic Merit in 1998 and the Second Exposition Award of Academic Merit in 1999 from the Colombian Architecture Society (comparable to the American Institute of Architects.) In 2000, Pablo relocated to the United States where he worked for a General Contractor as a Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager. Pablo is extremely family-oriented and loves spending time with his wife and two kids, especially on the golf course.

Senior Project Manager

Peter met Charlie while working as an owner’s representative for a church renovation where Peter was a Pastor. In 2006, Peter joined CT Wilson Construction. Before receiving his Master’s in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, Peter attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Design with an emphasis on Construction Management from Clemson University. His unique professional experience, his personability, and diverse education make him well qualified in his position as Project Manager because he comes to the table with a great understanding of the goals and experiences of the Owner, Architect, and General Contractor. Peter lives in Downtown Durham, has three kids in High School, and finds time to occasionally preach and officiate weddings on CT Wilson Construction employees.

Rob Brisley

Senior Project Manager

Rob worked for CT Wilson Construction in the summer of 2009 as an intern estimator while attending NC State University. After college, Rob worked for MBP as a consultant performing cost estimating, constructability reviews, and litigation construction claims. In 2013, Rob joined CT Wilson Construction as a Project Manager. His prior experience as an Owner’s Representative and Estimator bring unique perspective to his job and enable him to better manage a multitude of project types.
